'WE ATE THE ECLAIR' I bought an eclair and some take-out Chinese dinner. I was going to paint the eclair the next day, but we ate it, so I painted the fortune cookie instead. My friend offered me some little plastic critters for models. I liked the snake.
FIGURE STUDY 10 This model study was done in one 2 1/2 hour sitting. I am learning from my struggle with landscape painting to simplify and look for relative shapes and values in the subject.
'REFLECTION' My objective in this painting was too find what was most visually interesting to me, in viewing the posed model and frame that as my composition. I had to ignore some very wild high heel shoes in order to do this!
I studied drawing and fine art at the California College of the Arts, Oakland, in the late '70's. I currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.
